Underwater Photography in the 1000 Islands on  8-1-06.

While exploring a shallow bay near Picnic Point State Park and Grindstone Island, I came across an area of lily pads. Curious to see if any large bass were hiding beneath, I donned my mask and snorkel and took a look.

Although I didn't find any lunker largemouth bass, I did discover a magical underwater scene with dozens of yellow perch, pumpkinseed sunfish, bluegill sunfish and small largemouth bass hiding beneath the weedy cover.

Rays of sunlight were sneaking between the lily pads adding beauty to the scene by dappling it with sunlight.

New! The camera I used was designed by Jacques Cousteau in 1961! Check it out >>>>>
